1. Lifetime:
Female mosquitoes live longer than male mosquitoes. The female mosquito lives for 3 to 4 weeks. The male mosquitoes die soon after mating with the female mosquito.
2. Characteristics of Heteropod Mosquito :
Mosquitoes can be distinguished from the other six species by the following characteristics and unique characteristics.
(1)Mosquito is a very delicate creature. Its proboscis (proboscis) extends in front of the head and is firm.
(2) Has compound eyes. But no simple eyes (Ocell)
(3) Its mouthparts are sucking mouthparts.
(4) Palpi (sensory needles) are elongated.
(5) Their legs are very long.
(6) The antennae of the male mosquitoes are arranged like a puzzle of dark hairs.
(7) The antennae of the female mosquito are normally elongated.
(8) A very large number of small scales are seen on the thorax, legs, abdomen and wing veins.
(9) There are very small scales on the lower edge of the wing and on the veins.
(10) There are six nerves in the wing. Among them, the 2nd, 4th and 5th nerves branch off.
(11 )The young organisms of mosquitoes live in water as eggs, maggots and larvae.
(12) Female mosquitoes fly at night and feed on the blood of humans, animals, birds and reptiles.
3. Morphology:
Its morphology consists of three segments namely head, thorax and abdomen. Let's see each section in detail.
(1) Head:
Almost spherical in shape. It has two large compound eyes protruding from it. On the head there is a jātī sensal horn which is thin and the long hairs are thick.
(2) Chest:
Mar manbu is cylindrical at the top and narrow at the bottom. The chest can be divided into three continents namely front chest and posterior chest. On every continent Jata has legs.
On each side of the thorax is a pair of winged wings. A Jatiya wing in the shop chest is also shaped like a metamorphosed bell. These are called Halters and Balancers. A scutellum or scutellum is located posteriorly across the upper part of the lower thorax. In the Culex mosquito it has three lobes. In the Anopheles mosquito it is crescent-shaped with a lobe. When the mosquito sits, its wings are folded one above the other side of the abdomen.'
(3 )wings:
.Many lines are visible on the wing. They are called veins or veins. They have sticky scales. On the outer tip of the wing there is a thread-like structure called brinjal.
* Anopheles mosquito has spotted wings. In some species white scales are visible on some parts of the legs. So we know that there are dots/lines.
